Team Possession

A new possession statistic will be added, calculating live ball possession for both teams throughout a match. This statistic will be presented as an overall percentage and split into first- and second-half values. It will be available in the advancedSportStatistics node and included in all fast path competitions. This data point will not be available until July 10, 2024.

Attack

The total number of times the team in possession passes the ball into the opponents half or the player in possession carries it into the opponents half.

Dangerous attack

When the following scenarios occur:

• Attacking player has a clear run on goal with no defenders in front of them

• Attacking team pass the ball behind the defence and it looks likely the attacking team will keep possession of the ball

• Attacking player on the wing has beaten the last defender and looks likely to cross the ball into the box

• Opponent has pressed high up the pitch and stolen the ball off one of the deepest lying defenders

Free Kick

The total number of unimpeded actions awarded to one side for a foul or infringement by the other.

Safe

When a team gains possession of the ball in their own half and are not being heavily pressed by the opposition and therefore are not likely to lose possession.

Throw In

The total number of times a team restarts play when the ball has exited the side of the field of play.

Shot

A shot calculation is any shot on target, any shot off target and any blocked shot combined. The aggregation of these will give you the total team shots on goal. * On Target - intentionally or unintentionally ends up in the goal. An attempt to score that would have gone into the net but either being saved by the goalkeeper or stopped by a player who would be the last-man * Off Target (Woodwork or Wide/Over)- Any shot that goes over the crossbar or wide of the goal on either side. Any shot going over the crossbar or wide of the goal either side but is saved by a goalkeeper or an outfield player. Directly hits the crossbar or post without a goal being scored. * Blocked Shot - a shot on target that gets blocked by an outfield player, but with other outfielder players or a goalkeeper behind the blocking player

Corner

The total corners value will include won, lost or taken. * Corner won/lost - the team being awarded a corner would be won, and corner lost for the team who conceded a corner for the opponent. * Corner taken is when a player physically carries out the action.

Goal Kick

Awarded to the defending team when the ball goes out of the field of play by crossing the goal line, without a goal being scored, when the last player to touch the ball was a member of the attacking team.

Goal

As above in the 'Team' stat section but this The total number of times a goal is awarded to a team and confirmed by the referee

Yellow Card

The total number of times a caution is shown to that team for a number of different reasons which include; foul, unsporting behaviour, dissent and more

Red Card

The total number of times a red card is shown to that team for a number of different reasons which include; foul, unsporting behaviour, dissent and more

Penalty

The total number of times a team were awarded a penalty

Dangerous Free Kick

If the position of the free kick is either out on the wing in a good crossing position or central and within shooting distance.

Substitution In

Aggregation of the total number of players substituted onto the playing field on a team level

Substitution Out

Aggregation of the total number of players substituted off the playing field on a team level

Offside

Aggregation of the total number of offsides on a team level

Penalty Missed

Aggregation of the total number of penalties missed on a team level

Goal Disallowed

Aggregation of the total number of goals disallowed on a team level

Shootout Penalty Scored

Aggregation of the total number of shootout penalties scored on a team level

Shootout Penalty Missed

Aggregation of the total number of shootout penalties missed on a team level

Shootout Penalty Taken

Aggregation of the total number of shootout penalties taken on a team level

Goal

As above in the 'Team' stat section but this is for a single player goals rather than the team as a whole. This is split into: * Penalty Goal * Own Goal

Yellow Card

As above in the 'Team' stat section but this is for a single player yellow cards rather than the team as a whole

Red Card

As above in the 'Team' stat section but this is for a single player red cards rather than the team as a whole

Offside

The aggregation of the player whom was caught offside

Goal Disallowed

The aggregation of the goals disallowed by the official for that player

Penalty Missed

The aggregation of the penalties missed or saved during the match or in a shootout for that player

Shootout Penalty Taker

The shootout penalty taker

Shootout Penalty Missed

The aggregation of penalties missed by that penalty taker (likely will be 1 unless everyone from both teams scores and it goes back round again)

Shootout Penalty Scored

The aggregation of penalties scored by that penalty taker (likely will be 1 unless everyone from both teams scores and it goes back round again)

Substitution In

The aggregation of the players substituted onto the playing field

Substitution Out

The aggregation of the players substituted off the playing field
