IMG Arena Live Streaming Platform - US & Canada Integrations
Who is this Documentation for?
This documentation is designed for customers of the IMG Arena Streaming Platform, who wish to operate within the United States or Canada. This documentation should be used in conjunction with the standard API documentation of the IMG Arena Streaming Platform, which can be found here: https://docs.imgarena.com/streaming-integration/.
Summary
Country level geo-restrictions are calculated using IP address on the IMG Arena Live Streaming Platform. GeoIP databases are 99.8% accurate to a country level.
In general, IP databases are slightly less accurate at a US State level.
With this in mind, and to ensure that all end users are correctly geo-restricted at a state level within the US and province and territory level within Canada, we have built a new feature.
This new feature allows customers to tell us the location of the end user at the point that they make a streaming API request to the platform. We will then take this state information and use it to apply geo-restrictions.
How Does it work?
We have a new authentication schema. It can be read in the "Authentication with location" section of this documentation, so customers can compare the two authentication schemas.
All other aspects of the API should be used as outlined in https://docs.imgarena.com/streaming-integration/
